How to Create Paintings With a 'WOW' Factor with artist/author Stephen Doherty

Join us for our October 4th meeting (9:30-12:30 at Huguenot Baptist Church) where we'll hear practical advice for improving our pieces.

Description of Program:   Steve Doherty will show examples of his own work that relate to his efforts to "up his game" and get better sales results in exhibitions; and he will refer Bon Air members to the work of artists he believes have achieved the kind of WOW factor that attracts buyers. Among the topics he will cover are:

  • simplifying the subjects of paintings

  • pushing the pattern of light and shadow

  • adding people, buildings, and animals

  • warming the overall tone of paintings
