Did you know dues are due?

BAAA News and Announcements - February Newsletter

  • Garry-Lou Upton noted it is time to pay dues to the Virginia Watercolor Society. Membership is $30 and there are no regular meetings requiring attendance. Its annual art show will be May 20 to August 2, 2019 in Lorton, VA. John Salminen will be the juror and will be teaching a five-day workshop for $575 on “Abstraction through Design.” He is an excellent teacher. Richmond will be sponsoring the annual show in 2020.

  • Kathy Miller announced that Uptown Gallery opened with the all member show featured. Barbara Newlin and Joanne Fisher are exhibiting in the Frable Gallery through February.

  • Betsy Kellum had fliers available for two classes she will be teaching in March: “Paint What You Love” with oil or pastel and “Basic Drawing II” with graphite, charcoal, ink and conte. Classes are taught at Independence Golf Course.

  • BAAA ANNUAL DUES: It is time once more to pay your $35 annual BAAA membership dues. Please submit your check made out to Bon Air Artists Association or BAAA to: Jack Frable, 22 Givens Court, Richmond, 2227 and not to the post box number. Or you can pay Jack at our next meeting. Write "BAAA dues" in the memo line.

  • CALL FOR WRITERS FOR BAAA NEW WEBSITE: Elizabeth O’Meara our new publicity chair needs your words. The new website includes a blog and will need consistent articles. Please consider writing a short 250—500 word explanation of whatever you want, share photos from a recent gallery show in which you were involved or that you attended, and/or interview a fellow artist about his/her works. Anything goes and Elizabeth has ideas if you need inspiration. Please email elizomeara @ gmail com with questions you may have or to volunteer.
