ABOUT US

The Bon Air Artists Association is Richmond's premier and perhaps longest-standing local artists' organization, gathering some of the finest artists in the Metro Richmond area for community, betterment, education, philanthropy and, of course, the sharing of our fine art in galleries, exhibits, and art shows throughout the area.

The Association is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization that regularly meets the first Friday of each month, except for July and August, at 9:30 AM at the Bon Air Christian Church at 2071 Buford Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23235. Two types of memberships are available, Exhibiting and Associate. For more information, visit our Becoming a Member page or contact Membership Chair, Lee Austin  at bonairartists@gmail.com. Our President is Jan Priddy.

About Bon Air Artists Association
Join us for the Bon Air Artists Association Annual Art Show on March 22 & 23 to benefit World Pediatrics

The Bon Air Artists Association holds an annual show featuring over 200 pieces of artwork from more than 40 area artists to benefit a charity.  This year the group is partnering with World Pediatrics, a nonprofit organization with a mission to heal critically ill children and build health care capacity.  World Pediatrics will receive a portion of the art sales, so the show will not only help local artists but also benefit an organization that has helped more than 25,000 children around the world.

Artists:  The show will feature Bon Air Artists, many of whom have won local and regional awards and exhibit in Richmond area galleries, as well as two special guest artists this year -- Robert Caldwell and Stanley Rayfield.

Caldwell, a Virginia Commonwealth University graduate, is a nationally known, award-winning wildlife artist who creates highly detailed realistic paintings and drawings.

Rayfield, also a VCU graduate, is known for his award-winning, photo-realistic portraits and fine art.  One of his pieces was purchased by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and Rayfield painted the official portrait of the 73rd governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam.

Show Details:  The Bon Air Artists Association show will be held March 22-23 at Independence Golf Club, 600 Founders Bridge Blvd., Midlothian. The show kicks off Saturday, March 22,with a paid reception from 5 to 9 p.m. that features food and drinks and provides attendees with a first look and opportunity to purchase the available artwork.  Tickets for the reception are $50 and can be purchased in advance or at the door.  To purchase tickets in advance, checks should be made out to BAAA Fundraising and mailed to BAAA c/o Pam Landreth, P.O. Box 72932, North Chesterfield, VA 23235.  Tickets also can be purchased through PayPal, which carries an additional $2 fee.

On Sunday, March 23, the show is free and will open from noon to 5 p.m.

Raffle:  In addition to the artwork available for purchase, the show will feature a raffle for a chance to win original art donated by some of the exhibiting artists.  Tickets are $5 and the winners will be notified at the end of the show.

OUR HISTORY

Bringing Richmond  Metropolitan Area Artists Together

In 1974, students in J'net Kaulfers' oil painting classes encouraged her to create an organized group to accommodate their growing talent and interest in art. The Bon Air Artists Association was formed. Today, it fulfills the wants of a group of avid artists throughout the  Richmond Metropolitan Area by promoting cultural awareness, offering excellent programming and giving incoming artists the chance to meet, learn, exhibit and share with other artists. The Bon Air Artists Association is an active, friendly, and stimulating organization of and for artists of all levels and mediums. We invite you to check us out and join our passion for art!
